Short Bio
Mehmet Caputcu was born in Izmir (Turkey) in 1981, as the first child of his
family. Finished his secondary education in Bursa and Kutahya, then
graduated as a civil engineer in Istanbul in 2005. Received his master's
degree from the USA. Had the opportunity and privilege to observe a
successful example of how academic research and practice can effectively
cooperate, when he served at the transportation institute in Iowa. Lived in
the US for four years and returned to Turkey. Taught courses to engineering
students as a lecturer. Obtained his Ph.D. degree in transportation
engineering. Continues to conduct experimental research and write blogs on a
variety of topics he is interested in. He is married and father to a
daughter. Currently lives in Turgutreis (Bodrum), his hometown.

Walkability in urban areas, urban parks, traffic improvements, traffic
safety, drainage on roads, evaporative cooling, rain water harvesting,
correct use of language, awareness projects...
